ArchaicTribe

Tell me what to build next

The ArchaicTribe is the planned community for LocalSound and LocalMoney. People suggest features and vote on them, and the most-wanted ones get built first.

The idea

What the tribe is

A community with one job: deciding what gets built next.

LocalSound and LocalMoney are free, and every feature in them is there for everyone. Joining the tribe doesn't unlock anything extra. What it gets you is a say in what comes next.

It's a community, not a product: people who use the apps and have opinions about them. The tribe decides the order in which things get built. The pace stays mine, I'm afraid.

How it works

Suggest and vote

  • Suggest

Post a wish for LocalSound or LocalMoney: a new feature, a change, or that one detail you'd fix if it were your app.

  • Vote

Back the wishes you want most. The more votes a wish collects, the higher it ranks.

  • On this website, not in the apps

Wishes and votes live here. The apps stay a music player and a money manager, not a forum.

Joining

How you'll join

Probably with a free sign-up, so the votes come from people and not from one very enthusiastic script. The details aren't decided yet, and I'd rather get them right than early.

Donations

Want to chip in?

I currently don't take donations, but might in the future. In the meantime, consider donating to one of the projects under credits, for LocalSound or LocalMoney. They did a lot of the hard parts.

Q&A

Questions

When does it open?

After the first public releases, once this website has learned to count votes. I don't have a date yet.

Is it one tribe for both apps?

Yes. You join the tribe, not an app, and you can vote on wishes for both.

Will the apps nag me about it?

No. The apps will tell you when the tribe is live, but you can disable such news with a click.

What will you need from me?

As little as possible. Once the sign-up is decided, the privacy page says what's kept and why. No newsletter, unless the tribe votes for one.

Can the tribe vote for anything?

Almost. A wish that would move your data into a cloud or make the apps require an account can collect as many votes as it likes; it still won't be built. Local stays local.
